Head Coach

Mark Davis

Mark Davis enters his sixth year at the helm of the SLCC men's soccer program, after developing both the SLCC men's-and-women's programs during the summer of 2016. Davis moved from coaching both programs to solely leading the men's program in the summer of 2021.

The Bruins were the No. 1 team in the nation for much of the 2021 season, finishing with an overall mark of 19-1 and falling in the NJCAA semifinals. SLCC earned the Scenic West Athletic Conference, Region 18, and NJCAA Western District titles during the season.

SLCC had a landmark 2021 season in soccer, with Davis leading the Bruins to their first-ever NJCAA national title in Men's Soccer. An almost-as-impressive feat was that Davis simultaneously led Salt Lake to an NJCAA national runner-up appearance in Women's Soccer during the same 2021 postseason.

Both programs experienced competitive highs in 2018 as the Bruins hosted the Region 18 Men's-and-Women's Soccer tournaments at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman. The SLCC women's program claimed the Region 18 title, finishing the year with an overall record of 13-2-2 and 7-1-1 in the Scenic West Athletic Conference. The Bruins eventually fell in the NJCAA District championships. The men's program was ranked as high as No. 2, finishing the year at 15-3-1.

Davis has a long history of successful coaching at the collegiate level. The Utah native previously coached at BYU-Hawaii, working with the men's soccer program. He led his men's team to a .609 (15-8-9) overall winning percentage and .740 (15-3-7) percentage in the NCAA Division-II PacWest Conference. His team has made a top-four conference finish three seasons in a row achieving back-to-back-to-back winning seasons for the first time in school history. He was named the PacWest Coach of the Year in 2013. Davis is the all-time winning coach in BYU-Hawaii men's soccer history.

Davis has strong ties in Utah as he attended Copper Hills High School, where he started on the varsity squad all four years as a high school player.  He is is a founder of Olympia Football Club in Heber City, Utah.

Davis was also a head coach of Real Salt Lake women's soccer team. He was named the head coach for the 2016 season. He was named UWS West Coach of the Year for his efforts during the 2016 season. In 2015, the RSL women won the WPSL Elite National championship. Davis's RSL ties have helped the Bruins as both programs compete at Zions Bank Stadium, which is the minor-league venue for the Real Monarchs.

He played at Iowa Western College and led the team to a conference championship in 2009. He went on to graduate from BYU-Hawaii and moved to Concordia University-Irvine where he gained his master's degree in coaching and athletic administration.

Davis served a two-year LDS mission in Tampico, Mexico 2006-08 and is fluent in Spanish. He is married to his wife, Natalie, and has two children - Dax and Rudy.
